BEFORE ME AND IN ME

Painting by Pascal Chove

You think you can tell
love from war
as if you were the only one soldier here.
But little you know
about shields and elms,
about people and life.

Tomorrow the rooster
will call again and you will remember
the times you denied me.
I am a woman of absolute surrender.
I gave up all to follow
what would never owe me
for I don't believe in battles and trues lies.

Before me and in me
only the truth
you will never see:
(my) life can't be contained in words.
The ubiquity of my being
can't be understood
even if you try.
I am one thousand women
and none of them live in your limitations.

  1. Interesting. Reminds me of the movie the man with a thousand faces. Your style is becoming more abstract I must say. I enjoyed this flower! tc
