Painting by Kim Nelson

Something unexpected happened to her:
she was growing old.
And it was a real challenge to be responsible
for all those wrinkles and doubts.
(Yes, she still had doubts when she was supposed to know all the answers)

"It is an eruptive condition. Meade is right." She thought as she looked
herself in the mirror, observing that woman she couldn't recognize anymore.
It took some time to gather courage and accept the senile stains blurring her skin, dissolving her body into a new reality.

People say being young is a state of mind:so she was just 18.
She still rides her bicycle just to feel the wind touching her gray hair,
disheveling memories, entangling the time.
Once somebody asked if perfection was important and she said:
"It can't be achieved. But it must be the goal."
Deep inside, she knew perfection was a word excluded from her dictionary
of emotions.

She got frustrated with people when she had to learn to live alone:
sons, daughters and grandchildren were a kind of miracle no longer believed in.
She learnt to love them without attachments though.

But some things are immortal for her:
She never let go of her dreams and compassion.
In her mind, he is naked under the covers, surrounding her with love like
an electric fence, shocking her tireless body.
She looked deeply into the palms of her hands today
and saw her fire. She feeds it daily.
It doesn't matter her age: life has always arisen from her creative depths.
She is an incredible author - never waited to write/live her own story - never.
She is still a promise.

That black silence is for those who know no peace.
Close the windows and forget the wounds outside.
There's music in the dark waiting for your heart
As you unburden your soul and see life so wide.

The vague shadows that greeted your eyes
Are sleeping, fading behind the vales green.
Let your thoughts seek beauty and comfort.
You're the actress of a new play. Set the scene.

Let the rain reverberate and whisper incantations.
Unzip the night, the stars will land on your hand.
Everything shall pass, love speaks at the end
When life is under your feet and command.

But if you can't find solace in my tender words
And need a shoulder to cry, lean on me.
My heart belongs to you, my little princess.
Here is my place. By your side, I will always be.
