Painting by Lucia Coghetto

I have a secret to tell:
I am glued to this world.
Who should be blamed for this mistake?

But my head has never been here
over my shoulders.
It is lost in another galaxy
where my moment fits the impossible stars.

My eyes observe
unobservable beauties,
specially those tighten by hope and faith.
I am a self-taught dreamer.
Every day
I challenge myself to see the world
from a different angle.
I like to hang upside-down like a bat
and see some miracles.
I know I can't see any when
my feet are on the ground.

Once I tried to run away,
flee from the poor meaning of life.
The window was open
and invited me to study the Laws of Newton.
When I opened my black eyes,
I was already glued to this time of desacralization.

It has been hard to face what is absolute and undeniable.
(I did all my best to smile)
There must be something that justifies my presence
in this dimension.
But I don't want to philosophize now.
I am open to suggestions.

I have two minutes
and I can't promise
anything as I vomit
behind this locked door.

I have two minutes
before I poison
and stain this white room,
this body again.

I have only these
two singular minutes
and I don't need
to be blessed
or confess my lovely
sins.
(all my lovely sins)

That note on the table
shall speak on my behalf.
I have so many questions.
There is no reward for
conformity.
I am trading all my memories
right now for some peace.

Two minutes are left
and if I could, I would
close the window but
this delicate moment
is mine, all mine.

He thinks he can fool the moon,
hiding behind her shadows when
she wanders aimlessly in the sky.
He thinks he knows her depths
of pain and despair when she falls
over and over again and nobody is
there.
He knows nothing about the star
on her forehead.
He only knows she might be crazy or
dead.

He thinks this and that but he never
reaches her hand, he never sees her
heart under his command.
And as time goes by, she is almost near
the window, she is almost ready to forget
him forever and fly.
