"O Lord, help me to be pure, but not yet"
Saint Augustine
"Sin is the excess of what is good."
Saint Augustine
Painting by Alberto Pancorbo
This greed opens my eyes:
I can’t walk in my ways anymore.
My flesh is nothing but violence and inaccuracy
I dirty myself with my eyes glued to the sky,
reaching out to the master
I can’t walk in my ways anymore.
My flesh is nothing but violence and inaccuracy
I dirty myself with my eyes glued to the sky,
reaching out to the master
with bruised knees,
offering nothing
but that and that.
I love this shame,
this devastation when everything
is beyond, when I fall from heavens
to my private paradise.
Forgive me lord:
the excess of the excess makes me free,
offering nothing
but that and that.
I love this shame,
this devastation when everything
is beyond, when I fall from heavens
to my private paradise.
Forgive me lord:
the excess of the excess makes me free,
the excess of the excess is the best sin.

Now this is a poem that I can really relate to! We have all been there my friend. It is humbling to read of others who have crossed the same path. tc
