Years of rainbows

Painting by Rearngsak Boonyavanishkul

I painted rainbows on my walls,
to hold back those years of surprise
and bewilderment when I used to slice
the hours and serve the minutes
on trays of forgetfulness.

My hands were faster than
my thoughts and I didn’t need
names or explanations to understand
why life moved in mysterious ways.

There was a miracle for each day
of the week and my dream catcher
was hung over my bed, swallowing
my bad dreams.

Now I paint rainbows on the chambers
of my heart to remember I myself
was one once.
My true colors and delicate hues
are still hidden there

  1. Yes, the dream catcher! How lovely to take away
all bad thoughts and give us hope! ~ Blessings
