The sea got hold of me
as a fainting wind made a wiry music,
dissolving me in fluid beauty, isolating me
in a universe of wonder and warm memories
where humming birds raced down my avenues of hope.
The sea unlocked my fountains of peace, melting my life
with sanctifying sweetness. I abandoned myself
to the honeysuckles and my poems lured
me to the moon where my secret
waters overflowed waiting for
the sun to rise on me again.
