COWARDICE

A gull was soaring when the south wind carried her shells

away, disheveling fast the wild waves of her silent sea.

He saw nothing but particles of foam blowing her candles.

He heard nothing but the dusky tides of his heart in half.

He said nothing: a sand-storm scattered the words in his throat.
