HER LOVELY WEB

She released her thread and waited

For the wind to blow it away...

Patiently, she constructed her

Web and stayed there quietly,

Motionless looking at him not

As prey but as something she

Could have forever...

When he came, she wrapped

Him in her satin sheets, cooked

For him, lulled him with her soft

Voice...

At night she used to bite him,

Scratch his back, look him in

The eye...

Little by little he got paralyzed

And forgot how to say goodbye.
