She released her thread and waited
For the wind to blow it away...
Patiently, she constructed her
Web and stayed there quietly,
Motionless looking at him not
As prey but as something she
Could have forever...
When he came, she wrapped
Him in her satin sheets, cooked
For him, lulled him with her soft
Voice...
At night she used to bite him,
Scratch his back, look him in
The eye...
Little by little he got paralyzed
And forgot how to say goodbye.
