the new girl offends me 

whenever she foretells small miracles

exploring astrology and my poor understanding

of his extinguished fire.

she said my venus is conjunct his mars

and our moons are in trine.

she told me about his lack of water and difficulties

in dealing with feelings.

she knows more about him than I do.

after thirty years, what is he

but a wish upon a sad star?

Leave the heavy rings on the corners

of Saturn and empty your eyes

as soon as I cast the chart.
